Thanks guys, I was wondering if she was actually laying eggs. I mean she is old enough and she eats a ton. I will have to separate her and check her eggs. Thanks. I could have me silkie go broody and hatch them if she lays any.
I have a pair of sumatras (one male, one female), the male is 1-2 years old and the female is 2-3 years old. I have had both of them for a year and I haven't seen them have any eggs yet. The female should have white eggs, so I might mix them up with my sebright, (she has had 2 clutches). I've...
I was powdering my D'uccle hen with diatamacous earth when she flew out of my hands, she didn't flap her wings so she fell. After that she crouched for a long time. I picked her up and when she breaths I can hear clicking. When I move her legs the joint on the hips click. Are her legs pulled out...

...feathery stubs where he pulled his feathers out. Would it be better if I got a picture of the joint? It looked a bit bigger than the other one.
*EDIT* He has been i the cage with just his girls for two days since he started limping. How long should I wait before being concerned that it is...
He started limping yesterday, I don't think it is broken because he tends to put a little bit of weight on it but not much, when he sits he curls the toes on the hurt foot. I have a video of him limping: And this picture, he toes look kind of lumpy on the bottom and there are some red spots on...
I am trying to get a few sumatras for my mother for mother's day but I can't find good website to get a few hatching eggs, they all require me purchase 15-20 eggs at a time. So I looked for chicks instead and I would have to purchase 15 chicks with $50 shipping. Please help me, any recommendations?
Same thing happened to my d'uccle if she gets lethargic you should try an Epsom salt flush.

My black australorp is making a weird seal noise, it seems to be when she breaths because she can't stop making the noise. I caught her but I can't figure out what it is. Any ideas?
Yeah thanks, I have her inside in a kennel with some water with a little poultry nutri-drench in it. I had her on my lap for a while, she flew up and wanted some petting. I am worried because her eye was open and now it is tightly shut. I don't know if it is swelling or getting infected.
Fat raccoon killed my neighbors cat and my show quality d'uccles. Found the fat coon his by a car. Chopped his tail off and nailed it to the door of my coop. Haven't seen any since.
I am thinking that "Clover" is a cute name, it also is kind of lucky you know? The Irony. I think she is super cute I will be watching to see how she grows up.
Yeah she is my indoor chicken at the moment, I swear this one is disaster prone, but it only makes me love her more.
Do you have any idea how to clean it? I just used warm water to whip away the blood. I want to make sure it doesn't get infected. Is there some product I should use?
My mother recently lost her favorite rooster, a black sumatra that loved her to death. I really want to get her one or a few for mothers day. Does anyone know where I can purchase a a few decent sumatra chicks/birds.
I would prefer not buying 15 of them.
