Hello everyone,
It has been awhile since I have posted any issues I have had with my chickens. I just got some chicks off of a neighbor and they have coccidiosis. I knew right away because I saw blood on them that looked like it could have been from an Injury but it was close to the vent and on...
I have a hen id say at oldest she is maybe 6 years old. Never had any health issues aside from an occasional poopy butt. I have her quarantined now because i have no idea what in the hell is wrong with her.. She eats and drinks and walks around although she is a bit wobbly and she sticks her...
The first pic is when I brought her home. As you can see her one leg sticks way out. I tried to keep it under her for the car ride but she wasnt having it. When I got her home I wrapped her legs with a thin strip of vet wrap to keep them in the correct position. I also gave her nutridrench...
i was just trying to figure out if maybe she had distinguishing characteristics of a certain breed. Ive had some ee and ee mix that had those eyes and colors but the ee at my stores are all brown. The gold one I definitely got out of a wyandotte bin but the smaller one was with noone similar...
yes... I know how to take care of chicks lol. ai just dont like to use heat sources that potentially cause fires. I have about 25 now i have raised . Some of which are 8 years or older and still doing great
I am no longer using a heat lamp or that bin. Just in case anyone has a problem with it lol. That was just a quick solution while i set up their more permanent area. The first one I wasnt sure if it was going to make it through the night and the second one I got after she did .
2 days ago i got new baby chicks from agway. Some are a week some are 2 weeks. This one is way smaller than the rest but she does still seem to be eating and drinking. Im concerned for her though. I thought she had pasty butt so I have been soaking her bum in warm water and getting all the poo...
good to know thanks! maybe I'll give them a week just to be safe. I seem to have 2 chickens ready to be a mom so im hoping one of them will accept them but if not I need my backup plan.
okay so im not new to raising chickens by any means. I currently have 17. I have bought chicks and introduced them as day olds to a broody mom ,had a hen hatch her own and raised them myself with supplemental heat. My question for you guys is this. I am getting new chicks in about a week. During...
how did you get it out? usually if we catch a coon and its trying to do that they are mean. havent encountered many that were mean but id be afraid that one would attack
i burried her sorry. I didn't know if it would be appropriate or not. Im from Pennsylvania. We haven't had much problems with raccons or possums because i set the catch and release traps. I have dog kennel fencing around my chicken coop and that is also covered with chicken wire. Ive covered...
