17 chicks and maybe 2 ducks. How messy are two ducks?

Yes! We got two "female" welsh harlequins. It is looking like one is definitely a male, raspy voice and yellow bill. The female quacks very loud and has a dark bill. They get along great with the chickens. Not sure what we will do if the male tries to over mate. Luckily the female is the...

    Lavender Orpington Thread!

Is he still quiet? One of my lavender orpingtons is definitely a rooster, but he hasn't made a peep, but he is only 2.5 months. If he stays quiet I will keep him. Is this normal for LO roos?

To heat or not to heat?

They look like they are almost there. Being in the coop for the 40 degree night will help them transition for the colder night, but if you are nervous you could use a heat lamp. I don't think it is necessary, but now I'm second guessing myself. I think other people will advise no to the heat...

To heat or not to heat?

Usually at 4 weeks they are fully feathered even if the feathers are small. All their fuzzy hair would be gone. Do you have a photo of them?

To heat or not to heat?

Yes, they will be good, esp if they have a nice thick bedding/wood chips to snuggle into!

To heat or not to heat?

I know you said the coop isn't insulated, but is it drafty? If not, I think they would be fine if they are fully feathered. Which they usually are at 4 weeks. They will all huddle throughout the night.
