Here is momma teaching them what is food and water. They all caught on after watching her eat and drink. We lost one last night. Not sure what happened to it but the remaining ten are eating and drinking. They are so adorable. -

I was tending to think that they would be fine with mom keeping them warm. With daytime highs to 70F and night lows mid 50's for the next while they won't be subject to any near freezing temps and will be in a duck house too. Gave mom water in a dish she drank alot but stayed on her babies. -

I just checked and this wee one was at the edge of her wing. Momma is very calm now that they are hatching. I petted her and she sat and just tucked in more feathers. Momma duck usually is out for food and water by 9am the latest every day and yesterday at 2pm there were 4 eggs externally pipped. Its now 12:15pm and no sign she is coming out of her duck house. I think nailing down when to start counting as day 1 has some impact on the 35 day rule. Mine was on the day before and first day all but 3-4 hours so may not actually started full time till day 2 which would put them actually at 33 days not 35 tomorrow. Either way hoping for a good hatch. She... -
