It has been a while since I have been here!!!

Welcome Back!!! Sorry to hear about you Dad. I'll keep your family my prayers, as well. The salmon are running really well (record run, actually) and I was thinking about you. If you get a chance to come back up north, please let me know. It would be nice to see you again.

    Inexpensive fairy picnic party ideas?

O.K. I've pulled out a Fairy Crafts book I have. Under the fairy party section they have firefly lanterns (looks complicated), fairy invitations (cute), petal bracelets (made with small silk flowers), flower plates (very cute and easy), blooming tableware (plastic spoon and fork disguised as a...

    Bedtime advice....

I have an 8, 9, and 10-year-old and I agree with you. Bedtime on weeknights is 9:00- 9:30 and on weekends it's about 10:00. On Fridays we have family movie night. We camp out in the livingroom and watch movies, so sometimes they don't get to sleep until later, but the love movie nights.

    Double yoke eggs

I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure it is not dangerous to the chicken. Some lay double yokers as their bodies adjust to laying. I've heard that it is a good sign that it is a very healthy chicken. And, I've had one to two chickens that just consistently layed double yolkers.

    Should I be concerned?

I agree with Southernbelle. My third child is in 2nd grade this year and he has spelling words and is to read 15-20 minutes every night, just like the older two when they were in second grade. And, they come home with a "Thursday Folder" filled with that week's work and any notes/letters from...

one of my next year butchering goals . . .

We cut up all of our birds before we freeze them. It is really easy. For me (who doesn't have a lot of arm muscles), a big knife works best, but my DH says the size of the knife doesn't make a difference to him.

Daughter's boyfriend is choking her...need advice please

I think, at the very least, that you need to go visit your daughter PERSONALLY (this will show her that you are VERY concerned). Take your husband with you and tell her how concerned you both are. Bring her father, and anybody else that she respects and listens to, into this discussion as well...

    Parenting Question Poll Style =)

I didn't get my DL until I was 24-- was already married, out of college, and had a job. I put it off because I was terrified that I would kill someone. If he is scared I suggest small steps, and let him pick those small steps. Down the block and around the corner, at the speed he feels...
