After all that hard work it was time for a rest. Poor girl.
I should have taken a picture of it in my hand so you could see actually how large it was.
I wish I knew which hen lay it. I have a lot of chickens and there is almost always a different hen on the nest when I go out there to check...
Today I got my third egg in an egg. The outside egg is HUGE. Almost the size of of a goose egg. It has always been broken. The inside egg is a normal sized egg. Has anyone ever heard of that happening before? The first picture is with one of my regular sized eggs next to it. The 2nd picture I...
Sorry for your loss. I know how you feel. I would go with the shotgun. I have used it successfully in the past. I have also used live traps on occasion. I don't recommend poison.

I have a Hovabator 1602 with an automatic turner and it does very well at holding a constant temperature. I have been well pleased with it. I have it on a small table I set up in the dining room so it isn't near a door or window. Good luck and happy hatching.
I have a white Japanese bantam hen and a black Japanese bantam roo. The hen's tail feathers are not nearly as large as the roos. I will try and get pictures of them and post them here.
