    What about using longer screws and put pieces of drinking straw, nuts or something similar as a spacer. You only need like 1/4 inch to get the air to flow by. That way you don't have search for the perfect fan.

    Make sure you have a fan disconnect switch build into it. Duck eggs hatch better without a fan, but it is better to have one during incubation for better temperature distribution.
