These are some pictures from last night (first one is the injured eye, second is her other eye)
From what I can tell shes at least mostly blind in the injured eye, but she’s back with her flock now and I think will be okay.
The gate is secured now - my sister forgot to check behind her when she closed it after taking care of them and it slammed on angelica.
We irrigated it and I’ll put some neosporin on it. We’ll let her rest and update you all in a bit.
Thanks for the help!
One of our chicken’s head got crushed in a closing gate. She was bleeding around her eye so we cleaned the area. She’s very pale, lethargic, and when we opened the eye there appeared to be blood behind the eye. We really need help - asap.
Here’s something I shared on her IG account that I thought I’d share with y’all. Bri has been doing amazing lately and even has learned a few French words like, “voici” “tu es un très belle fille!” “Arrêt!” And “très bien!”
Bridgette has seen and heard so many things, and still has a lot to...
Update on Bridgette:
She will officially be 1.5 years old on May 8th! She’s gotten better at high five, loves ice cubes (which I know might not be the best for her teeth), hasn’t humped for a while, and loves her new Chuck-It.
The weather has been beautiful the last few days as well! She also...
Thanks y’all, I really appreciate it! I’m working on getting better, and am just doing some tests before I can get back to doing most of my normal activities (like driving). At the moment I’m doing an at-home (ambulatory) EEG and it’s going okay. Next week I have a cardiology appointment and...
Once again, I’ve been MIA, but here’s a quick update.
I’ve been dealing and struggling with a lot of personal issues (physical health and emotional pain) that have been taking a toll on me. I’m so grateful for Bridgette though, she always brightens up my day.
Bridgette has been doing pretty...
Yeah Wilco I think is 2.5 hours from me so I’m not sure about that long of a trip. I guess I’ll try to be there quickly on this next weekend - hopefully because it’s been like mainly ‘chick days’ this past weekend so maybe the new shipments might not be as high in demand.
Most places get them...

Anyone know where I can get some chicks? Coastal, local co-ops, and even TSC seem to be virtually out.
I want to update you all: I have been MIA a lot lately, mostly because I'm slammed with other things in life. I am not much active in DMs either, but I will try to respond to tags or messages when I can. I've been struggling with physical health and some stress but still keeping my faith strong...
Does anybody know about availability for chicks in the next few weeks in King/Snohomish County, Washington? I'm hoping to add to my flock and help some friends find chicks but it's been difficult this week. I'm assuming the bird flu is having quite the impact and now everyone wants some. After...
