I have a group of Jubilee Orpingtons that I bought at 1 week old from Craigslist. Finally they stared laying and I incubated the eggs. Now these are my only chickens I have now so there is 0 chance of them being mixed on my end. Here comes the trouble part: When the eggs hatched the chicks are...
I would love to purchase some from you, when you decide who to let go!
I will try to keep looking in the meantime and see what I can come up with!
Would it be a bad idea to purchase hatchery stock and work up, being they are so hard to find?
Sorry for posting here but would any of you be able to tell me where I might obtain really nice or show quality large salmon Faverolles?
Anything from eggs to adults is fine!
I don't mind having them shipped, either.
I really want to start showing them. (Maybe after this Avian Flu threat...
Thanks so much for the info!
It was strange to check Craigslist and not have a single hit!
I thought I might have spelled it wrong lol
I wouldn't mind having them shipped to me but I think I may have picked the wrong time of year to start looking!
I'm not sure if this is the correct section to post this so please forgive and delete if needed!
I want to show large fowl Favorelles in the salmon color.
Everyone mentions not to start with hatchery stock but rather good show stock.
Can anyone point me to someone that has them?
I'm willing...
Thanks everyone!
Some good news! While in the water this evening she stood up for well over 5 minutes on her own!
I think the fear of falling wasnt as bad while she was in the water. She stood up and preened herself and even
had a good shake! Once she was back on land she was exhausted but...
I bought her Gamebird feed since she was not feeling well in hopes it would perk her up.
Against my better judgement I let her and her new friends play in my koi pond...
She now thinks water hyacinth tails are the best food ever!
I was unable to take her to the vet. I called him and he refused to see her. I did talk with him and told him what I have been doing and he said it sounded pretty good. I called around and the only vet that can see a goose is about two hours away and charges a disturbing amount for even an...
I definitely learned my lesson about leaving one there unattended. I felt so guilty about them not having a body of water here at home and there seemed like it would be a goose paradise at the time but I suppose that worked out terribly!
I don't think the food could have been moldy and I did...
Thanks for the info! I don't think there is anything dead in there but it's a huge pond. About 30-40 feet deep and maybe 400x150 feet. It's spring fed so rarely gets icky :)
If I did do the flush as a precaution would it hurt her?
We fill a fish feeder with her feed. It's Dumor feed. It's not...
Thank you for the advice!! Geese are a new thing to me. Someone had given me two- 1 day old chicks that I raised. She does have a small coop here but it isn't as secure as my at home chicken pen, as I lock them up at night. This is at our weekend spot because at home I have no source of water...
Thanks in advance for any help!
I have an African Grey Goose, approximately 6-7 months old.
(S)he has a giant pond and has been living there for about a month.
She eats food from an automatic feeder because we are gone all but weekends.
I noticed this weekend she didn't want to come out of...
My avatar is of one of my hens and I will try to get some pics of them in the yard.
I would really rather they all go to the same home but would consider parting with just some of them.
I would love to ship them but I haven't the slightest idea how to do it!
Also, that would be quite a bit of work shipping off that many!
I don't care about selling them at all... I don't want a dime for them, just a great home that loves them like I do...
I just didn't know where else on here...
I have a flock of black mottled bantam cochins. I have tenderly loved these chickens and they are very dear to my heart.
I started with a trio from Jamie Matts and a single female from Matt McCammon.
I currently have third year hatches on the ground. They are about 4-5 months old and...
