    I found out that it is the chickens!!!! So I watched and waited for them to crack one of the eggs, then took it and filled it with that anti-pecking paste. I really thinking Its working. I will let you all know if it is a fail. Fingers crossed!!!

    I know!! Im so happy she made it!! Her sisters picked all her new feathers off and she got frostbite!!! she was a hurting girl. But She made it and now she jsut need her feathes to grow!! I think she thinks she is a dog now ......

    Is this one way to tell if it's a rooster?

    Chickens are weird, that pecking order is a crazy thing. Roosters tend to try to be on the top of the order. Does any of the ones in question stay to the front of the pack? My Roo's were always the first to check who's approaching. That how I knew who were roo's.

    Here is picture of my SS. She had severe frostbite. She decided to molt the night before a severe cold snap. I brought her inside and I am dosing her with aspirin and antibiotic ointment. Does anybody else have any other advice that might be helpful?

    I know, I don't like the thoughts of using heating lamps either. But it went from 60 degrees to -9 degrees in about a day. I figure when the cold snap is over I'll turn them off. Here's the pictures of her back it looks like beef jerky.

    She was eating this morning, I had the vet chew me out because there was no heat lamp in the coop But I have brought her in the house and I'm starting her on Aspirin. I will have to keep her in until her skin heals. I just hope she can pull through, this chicken has had problems one right...

    I have a year old ss that was half way though her molt and we have had a huge dip in the temp (-9) I caught her today and her skin is discolored. I brought her inside, I'm not sure what to do next....any advice?

    is it bad to pet your chicken when they squat?

    I have a flock of 17 chickens. They all started running up to me and squatting all at once. My family and me thought it was funny cuz we could pet them. Will it cause them harm to pet them when they squat?
