    Silkie Cross Breeds

    Here's my silkie x, she is sooo sweet! And such a good mother, she's even adopted another hen's chicks when that hen couldn't take care of them all.( She was a tiny hen, and had a dozen babies) She wasn't even broody when she adopted them Her name is Kevin, her adopted chicks are with her.

    They are fertilized, but they were freezing each night since she wasn't broody and setting on them yet. I had to throw them away And since the nest was out in the pasture and there are foxes, skunks, and cats running around, I don't think it would've been a safe place for her to hatch them...

    Big white is a absolutley a male , but I'm not sure of the breed. Big Red is a male, he looks like he might me a Rhode Island Red mixed with something else? Spunky is a girl and she looks like she's an araucana? Spots looks like a girl. Not sure of the breed. Good luck!
