    I've never candled sideways like that. I always shine the light through the air cell, from the top, and it's pretty easy to see veining just below the air cell. You're probably right about the clears. By Day 12, it should be pretty much unmistakable.

    No, they lose weight. Ideally, they'll lose12-14% by Day 18.

    I should have sorted these eggs before the hatch, but I didn't. At least two of them should be BC Marans...maybe four. The other 7 or 9 are just horribly-bred Olive Eggers, only one of which is a keeper and only if it's a pullet. 1. Looks like a Cuckoo Marans, so it must be an Olive...
