Looking for Hatching eggs in OK

Quote: HA! That is true. I figured out why. We had a saintly prayer warrior at church that lived south of Stroud that hated tornadoes. She was praying them North of her kids house. :-) My mother lives out in Claremore. I could definitely do a double duty trip sometime. What I need to do is...

Looking for Hatching eggs in OK

Quote: I would like to get 4 - 6 dozen every other week or every third week that would be great. I could do that for a while through the summer into fall and I think that would work out well. I am selling between 20 and 30 chicks a week right now. I have 50 chicks coming in tomorrow from a...

Looking for Hatching eggs in OK

I am looking to buy hatching eggs in Oklahoma. I want several dozen and would like to find folks wiling to sell me eggs often. I hatch and sell chicks. I only ask that the eggs be pure, i.e. not mutts. Other than that, breed really isn't all that important. I would rather not buy leghorns...

    Brown Broilers from Ideal

Okay, so I started this thread because when I ordered the brown broilers, I just couldn't find any info on them. So after I raised them and butchered them, I figured I would put some info out for everyone else. Here's the scoop. They do grow slow, I killed most of mine at 12 weeks. Only the...

Is there a White Barred Rock or is it just a White Rock?

There is a white plymouth rock and a barred plymouth rock, but not a white barred rock. Barred is the coloring. Those white rocks are great chickens.

    What killed my chickens?

Somewhere on the internet there is a predator chart and it will help you with that. I think at the end though, it says if there are absolutely no signs, but that it just disappears, it was probably a human. I can't imagine that on this side of 1948, but who knows.

weak yolk, blood in yolk and fluid in egg

I have a small flock of leghorns and white rocks. Lately, some of the eggs have fluid (looks like water) in the egg. At first we were boiling them and thought the shell had a crack. But the other day I cracked one frying and it had water in the egg. The yolks are having trouble staying together...

I think you were kind. If you had not said anything and shot her dog, that might be out of line. If she is looking at moving into the country, she might as well get used to the idea of "personal responsibility." A chart might help. Your dog, your fault; your kid, your fault; your cat, your...

    Brown Broilers from Ideal

I raised a set of brown broilers this time for killing. They are decent size at 11 weeks, but nothing like the cornish rock crosses. They are much healthier birds. They do not eat as much as the crosses. I will kill them at 12 or 13 weeks and see what they weigh out. They are beautiful birds. I...
