Would it be okay to say if she is having a false pregnancy and hasn't had any kits by day 36, I could re-breed her.? This is a new buck and doe I have had for a year. Maybe, with both of them being new at this that he really didn't do his job. They were running around the cage and I couldn't see...
So, I have a satin doe that I have had, and is coming up a year old. I bred her about 33 days ago. But, she has not gave birth yet? She has pulled fur and made a nice nest, and doesn't seem stressed. I watched the breeding of her, and the buck was at it for about 20 minutes. This is her first...
Do doves really need vaccinations?
I don't have them living with other species of birds. They are about 5-6 feet from the chicken coop with 4 chickens. They are in sheltured idividual wire cages outside and I keep the cages pretty clean all the time. I don't know a whole bunch about doves, but I...

I have 5 doves that I would like to worm. I got them about a year ago from a nice gentleman that raised them on dirt. Then, I raised them the same way. I have not seen worms, but from what I have been reading that it is good to worm them at least once a year if raised on dirt. I have read that...
I only get 5 eggs a day because I sold a lot of my buttons. But, 5 a day is too many when you don't know what to do with them other then sale them for crafts. I don't get enough to sale as hatching eggs, but I reciently bought breeding cages. So, I am hopeful that something good will turn out. I...
I don't have any yet. I wish I could get some, but they would have to be an out side type. I don't think there are really any that are accustomed to the outside. I have a big aviary and it would be neat to have some in there, but I don't think that is going to happen. We have wild ones all the...
I just want to see if this is correct. Ringnecks can have offspring with different color mutations? I am very, very new to doves. I was on a page that was showing different colors they can be and its a lot.
Wow, I am so new to doves. I feel stupid asking this question. I am going to get doves to go in my out door avairy. I know that most dove form a pair, but if i were going to get some juvinile unsexed & unbonded birds. Should I be looking for a certian ratio male vs. female?
I was seeing if anyone has used them. I was thinking about trying them as a pervenative measure. They sounds like a good idea, but are they okay with fertility with the males. I have had the usual picking nothing serious, but wanted more feathered out birds.
The tubbies will work great. I can't afford tubbies, so I made my own. I used super pet cages in the begging. But, at $20.00 a wack for a pair oche....
I wanted to see what everyone else uses for button housing. I love to see creative housing. This post also might help some housing questions.
Here is mine!
Well I was able to succesfully pair them off. I had to put a male and female right next to eachother in the next cage, so they could see eachother. This stopped the new introduction fighting. As far as the toe picker, I used hay in the cage to brake up the sight of toes. So, problem solved!
