I think you said what you actually said the first time.
Not interested in hearing that you think my participation is "bad form". Still just here for the svart honas. :thumbsup
I agree with that, but that wasn't exactly what you said. And my comment was intended to encourage the OP.
I don't have questions for you but would enjoy hearing OP's experience with Svart hona ownership. Was not aware that rare breed threads closed after a certain time....
NPIP requirements vary from state to state, but here in Ohio, it can be accomplished in a single visit from a poultry inspector who draws a tiny bit of blood from a percentage of your birds. Easy peasy and not particularly expensive.
Can I ask how much protein is in their feed? We have never had angel wing in our geese but did have it in some ducks years ago. Switching to a low protein waterfowl maintenance feed had them cured in a short amount of time. Fast forward to now and I have just bought some goslings with angel...
We have 4 LGDs that do a great job protecting our birds, including 20 geese from eagles, coyotes, raccoons, etc. We have never lost a goose to a predator and the dogs grew up with them so know what they’re about. We have 2 estrela mountain dogs that just turned a year old, a Great Pyrenees and...

The sebbies I haven’t had long. They hatched this year. They’re great though...
Ugh - hate it when that happens. Sorry :( The only thing that makes me feel slightly better when that happens is that at least they weren't chicks.
I have had fairly decent luck with shipped eggs so far this year, but that can change in a second. Hopefully not. :fl
Hello, BYC! It's been a long time since I have logged in, but I do share articles and threads regularly. No greater chicken resource anywhere than BYC.
Meanwhile I have been hatching and chickening like never before the last few years. The flock bought me a gqf cabinet. Most are older now...
I have been away from the site for a while and am checking back in. Our flock grew and shrunk and we are down to just a few of our favorite breeds in SW Ohio. Hope everyone is doing well.
We have recently had Hatching Time reps at some of our local swap meets and they seem to be popular in certain groups, but the reviews look awful. Do you have experience with their products? I should mention that I planned to build an incubator, but am now not so sure. I really don't want...
