After 1 day of antibiotics, and eating/drinking on her own. She is doing much better! She was up walking around this afternoon, and is now having to be crated. She is eating solid food (not a mash) and drinking water. No more honking either, just normal chicken sounds. I will keep her on...
She is inside so far away from the rest. None of the others seem to be ill at all. Her chest sounds clear no noise or rattling. I am currently giving her Tylan 50 but in the breast, is in the neck better? Other than the funny noise, she seems pretty good. A little less wanting to eat today...
My 8 month old dark Brahma hen BB was found yesterday am on the coop floor limp and cold but still alive. I brought her in put her in a laundry basket near our wood stove and immediately put some warm sugar water in her mouth. I also put a dab of honey on her tongue. I had to run down the road...

That is an old pic, he was about 4 weeks in that pic... it is just one that the lady I got him from sent me. I need to get my camera out and take some pics of my own.
I went to Indiana this weekend to do a family Christmas get together... I decided on the way up I was going to check the local craigslist, I couldn't help myself lol. And low and behold I found the cutest puppy ever. I decided to write on it to find out more info. The people wrote back and the...
I think he is a french.. this is what I found on the National Angora Rabbit Breeders Club... He most closely fits the description of the french...
The French Angora does not have any wool furnishings on its head, face, ears, or front feet. The ears may
be plain or tufted, with the tufting...
I actually contacted 2 different vets in regards to the fleas. and that is what I was told to use. I have no idea what kind of Angora he is because he was found as a stray. I was hoping you would know Brushing... well it is coming along... I brushed him for almost 1/2 hour today and got...
I went this morning and got a tube of puppy/kitten revolution from a vet and applied it to him to kill off the fleas. We haven't hit hard on grooming yet because the little bit I did I realized how heavy his flea problem was, and I don't want to risk spreading them around and giving them to my...
Ok Here are some pics I took this morning. Let me know what you think.... looks like he might have been trimmed but not sure
Here he is
Here is his "collar"
Here is a view of his back:
and here are a few "closeups" of his fur:
Let me know what you think and what the best way...
He is smooth with some tufts of matting on his back. His sides are one solid piece. His head is "clean" and his chest area is a solid mat that is "hanging" off a little at the top (like a collar) His underside is fairly matted too... I know matting/tangling will happen with any animal with...
I know I have to keep reading back to remember what was said lol.
I will post pictures of him and close ups of the matting before I set in to work on him, that way maybe you can see it and tell me what to do from there. But for now I am going to bed... gotta be up in 6 hours to get the kiddo...
If I remember correctly rabbits are easily nicked and torn if they are shorn. Right? I wont take clippers to him I promise. I will do the daunting task of coaxing them nasty things out
yes he is bad shape people make me angry! I am just glad my sister found him and called me (I am such a sucker) or he would have likely been killed. His foot pads aren't stained so he either has been loose a while, or kept on wire I am guessing... He is a little skinny but not horribly so... I...
ok I think I can handle it! I used to groom dogs... though usually if they were matted we just shaved them but he has done well with me just gently pulling the ones I can out so I am sure he will be ok with the rest of it... I will round up my tools and will start tomorrow... just do a little...
So will combing him out be the best option? If I gently pull on the smaller ones I can get it out little by little, I just want to cause him as little as discomfort as possible. he is the sweetest thing!
I can describe the condition of his coat better... it is matted to where I cannot part the matting to see his skin... I could get under them with clippers. It appears as the mats have been there a while as it appears they have been trimmed with scissors.
