My younger chickens (buffs and americanas) are 3 1/2 months old, but the same size as my older ones (6 silver laced wyandottes and americanas).

What age do you think I could introduce my younger chickens to my older ladies? I've been wanting to, but I don't want any trouble.

So cute and spunky! That's what I love about this breed. They are all individual and unique, and can be quiet and suck-ups (I love it when they do this!) or they can be dominant and spunky. Or they could be both...

I would have to say roo myself. That comb and those wattles are just too red not to be. On another topic, I agree with whoever said that they had a hard time telling their orps apart. Mine are fully grown, and in my flock of 20 of them, I can barely tell who's who!

Hello again. I was wondering if anyone knew about how long it takes Buff's to fully mature? If someone was kind enough to share, that would be great. I read that they took longer to mature than most chickens and i was wondering if anyone could confirm that from experience. Thanks!

I just got my girls yesterday (11 Buffs and 10 Americana's) and they are happily chirping away! They were set to come 2 weeks ago thursday, but got bumped to last thursday. I went to get them, only to find out that they weren't ready yet again! They were finally ready yesterday, so I picked them...

Hey! I was wondering how you guys get your birds so deliciously plump? I am looking to show my birds and I would like some input on how to plump up my chicks. I am getting my chicks on the 19th and was wondering if there was anything that I could do?

I need help with ventilation...so frustrated!

To help with condensation, I recommend that you make to little rectangular holes under the eves on 2 opposite sides of the coop. The wind can blow right through. I'll try to find a picture for you.

how do you clean the coop?

He says that I have no reason to want a new one and that this one is perfectly fine. We have all of the materials laying in the barn. I've pulled together a sketch and I know that I am ready if he were to give in.

how do you clean the coop?

Hello. I was wondering if you had any advice on how to persuade my dad to let me build a chicken coop. I currently have my flock of 8 in an old railroad car on our property, and as it is growing mold and full of holes, I am trying to persuade my dad to let me/ help me to build another coop. Any...

What treat did your chickies get today?

Peaches, blueberrys, and hard boiled eggs( going out to give them corn and boss!). And yesterday my brother dropped my first tomato out of the garden on the gravel so they got that too.
