    Ok, so I am getting 25 Rhode island Red chicks today, but we are getting one Buff Orpington from a local feed store. I was wondering if i could put the one chick in with the others? Or would they spread sicknesses? The one would not be to happy by itself would it? Thanks for you answers! :)

    I have had chickens do this before, and i don't even have a rooster! She is being broody. Meaning, she is trying to hatch chicks. I don't know much about Bantams though, but with her pecking you, just wear a coat or long sleeved shirt when you get the eggs, then you can just get the eggs away...
