I have 11 eggs hatching today. 3 are already out. This little guy has been maybe 1/3 zipped since noon - over eight hours. From pip to zip was only a few hours, so when he started zipping so soon, I thought he got tired and napped. But he's slowly - ever so slowly - made his hole bigger...
I woke to two more chicks this morning, then a third later, then a fourth early this afternoon. I think we may be done for this hatch, as the last two have not pipped. I guess it's only day 22, so I will certainly wait another day or two, but I'm pretty sure they're not going to hatch.
So my...
So happy for all those with great results!

Your pics are beyond adorable. They do grow so fast, don't they?
Yes, I think this is normal. My Brinsea gets fogged up between some hatches, too. It usually clears up fairly quickly.
Update here: still 22 hatched out of 28 eggs that went into lockdown. I had moved 12 peeps into the brooder...
Thank you for the tips, Joy.
I did steam up our bathroom - kept the shower running on hot with the drain plugged, ran the sink water, closed windows and door, etc. It was like a sauna in there. My daughter went in and said, "Wow! It's wet in here! I think the chicks will be fine!" I pulled out...
We are up to at least 22 hatched. I moved 12 to the brooder this morning, and at last count, there were 10 more in the incubator. So six eggs left to hatch. I just saw at least three pips, so I'm hopeful that most will hatch. Hurray!
I'm so sorry, adobechicks. I am not experienced in diagnosing the cause of chick deaths, but I know sometimes there just isn't a discernible reason. Did any of your others hatch? Again, so sorry.
Thanks for checking in! Here's a link to my hatching thread, for those who are interested.
As of today (day 21), I have at least a dozen hatched. It's a big party in there. Woke up to lots of fuzzy babies this morning. The first hatched yesterday around 3:30, then second around 8 p.m. There...
Saturday morning update: There are at least a dozen chicks in there! And more zipping. It's a big party, I tell you. Trying to decide whether or not to open the Brinsea and get them out, or just leave 'em there. They're doing well, and there's always a few wet ones + some zipping, so I'm...
Three out, and a fourth is zipping!
My incubator is stuffed to the gills, and the third chick was fully zipped, but his egg was lying sideways between the front of the 'bator and three other eggs. So he just couldn't get out. He had his beak out and was breathing fine, but I knew it would be a...
Update here:
We have two chicks! Second one (another Buff Orpington) finally hatched around 8 p.m. There are over a dozen pips, can't count them all. With 28 crammed into the Brinsea, it's going to get interesting!
So far, the two hatched are super cute - they nestle in between the eggs and...
