Oh that’s all good!
Thank you! I’m hoping she is a caramel then :)
Yes they are gorgeous! I can’t really fit any more quail at the moment tho lol although would be nice to have some more caramel :)
Also here’s pics of one of my quail, what color is she? She never moulted the white, unlike her sister. Sorry it’s hard to get pics that properly show up her color!
Oh okay that’s strange then! The breeder I got my two from said they were cinnamons but I think one of mine is definitely a caramel. In fact it may be slightly paler than your one but I’d have to check.
I believe I have one caramel chinese quail, are caramels rare? My caramel has lots of white on it. It’s sister (same age as it) has lost all its white yet this caramel one hasn’t for some reason.
Oh how sweet. Looks like a girl but could be wrong. Usually the males are louder :) If you post on budgierigars forum they will be able to tell you for sure :)
You don’t usually see them drinking (or not very often) and sounds like he’s just settling in. Give him time and I’m sure he will start chirping more when he’s feeling more comfortable with his enviroment :) An generally two budgies are a lot louder so one may not chirp as much. I have 4 budgies...
Yes budgies can definitley be trouble! But each individual bird is different! My male budgie just out of the blue attacked my Turquoisine yesterday and now she has blood all over her head! Poor girl :( I hope she’s going to be okay!
I agree that you should use collidal silver! I’ve seen it heal some nasty eye infections so it should hopefully help! I hope your quail makes a full recovery!
Also when canaries are breeding they “can” get aggressive and pluck finches etc so watch out if you plan to breed them! And I say “can” because not all canaries will do this.
I have pair of canaries housed with zebra finches, cockatiels and Chinese quail :) Depends which birds you’re after? Would you prefer finches, canaries or grass parrots?
