Well... 🫤... I too wish that all cockerels and roosters could, indeed, just all go the no-kill farms where they could live out lives being the amazing little guys they were born to be- I don't believe this to be a practical suggestion often times.
ARE there places like this..? Yes.
But can...
Well... Because I have had some quick to red pullets- I am much slower to say you have cockerels.
My question is - do they stay red in the face all of the time? Like- around the eyes? Or does the color fade back to a more pink or beigh-y color when they are just hanging out..?
The red face...
I understand completely.
My favorite chicken was an 'accidental cockeral' 😆 He was quite a character and I really couldn't help myself!
When I had first gotten chickens, one roo was allowed then the area in which I lived changed rules. 🫤
I wasn't about to get of him however 😆 I did the only...
Ahhh yeah- that's a cockerel.
I'm sorry.
He's handsome- and a gentleman!
Since he's dancing for his ladies!
He'll be a good rooster.
That should be a selling point if you have to rehome him....
Well... My google lens says this on your chicken's breed. 'namkim' -or- serena
I can tell you that he's :
Not dutch 😏 Shape is incorrect.
Not Cochin 😆 too many missing traits.
Pretty baby!
Found this breed - not mixed- at 3 months. These are the cockerels... 😆
And these- the Pullets... 😏
I don't think your's has as much as these pullets do- and I would ASSUME whatever they are mixed with, that they wouldn't be as comb and wattle heavy...
BUT... the wattle on the pulley gets...
Well... Google lens comes up with this...
And I say... (shrugs) He definitely has the beard & muffs... he's a cutie
He has a rump- so the third version is out! Lol.
Awww 🤗-- If that's not just the happiest looking little chicken I've ever seen! Lol
She really does look like she's got a big smile on!
I can't say I have ever heard of that breed but -at 6 months old- I'd guess like other cockerels- it'd be REAL apparent if she was on! 🤣
But- what the -zip-...
At 8 weeks - though I am hesitant, I would suggest is COULD be possible for the chick who is barred to be some sort of EE 'gem' or olive egger- where they are crossed with a PR & a leghorn, giving BIG comb at that age- and not being able to count on the coloring.. 🫤 It isn't uniform and is...
Umm... all these chickens look like barnyard EEs to me. 🫤
Nobody really looks Polish to me. No pluffs, no plooms--
The closest is the one drinking- that one has a little tuft- but... (shrugs)... Some Eggers have tufts, too.
The black one, walking in, that's a cockerel. He has saddle...
She looks like a young, skinny cochin bantam to me 😆
Maybe she's molting? 🫤
Here's was one of mine 'normally' and when she was molting. It was quite the difference. My daughter called her the vulture.
As for the last two... 😏
Hmm... Well, If we go by they are all the same age- but they are a silkie/sea bright/ booted bantam mix- Not knowing the age- but comparing em to the first guy- I'd say... it's too soon- 😆- but I'd lean pullet on them - but I sure wouldn't place bets!
Very cute flock. ☺️
Well- I guess I did want to break that up! Lol
Next two pictures - are these silkie/ silver sea bright mixes..? 🤔
If so, I'd GUESS the one with the fuller fluff would be a pullet- but... (shrugs) I have no experience with sea brights or breeding silkies or what would be dominant or even if...
Are you wanting assistance on breed or gender..?
I'll gladly make some wild guesses on both 😆
Picture 1) The first chicken- smack in the middle of the first picture- that looks cockerel to me- not knowing any ages 🤣- since that one seems to have more going on than anyone else in the shot- OR-...
That's a very good question. 😆 One I hadn't thought of -exactly- until you asked.
And yes, she looks like a bantam to me.
I also guess I gauge her against that wood plank- which isn't very tall- making her not very tall- even standing as tall as she can be. 😏
Her eyes look big to me...
Well... I have an Amberlink biddie... and there's something about the one with yellow feet makes me think of her! 🤔
Maybe she has some of the same mix that makes one of these..?
This is her right before she started laying...
She's gotten darker and more points as she's aged. The coloring...
