Well... Because I have had some quick to red pullets- I am much slower to say you have cockerels.
My question is - do they stay red in the face all of the time? Like- around the eyes? Or does the color fade back to a more pink or beigh-y color when they are just hanging out..?
The red face is sign of maturation or annoyance- or it's time to treat for mites! Lol But typically, the fellas do go red faster.. BUT not always.

The ginger one still looks like there are more light color tips at the end of the comb...
And the black one... well..

... it just looks soo much like TWO that I really thought were gonna be cockerel, but were absolutely not! Lol
I went back in my pictures and pulled some- about 10-11 weeks- and then a couple from the two- four weeks after.
The only cockerel I have is the splash. Both black ones are pullets. I will also put in 'litter mates' to see the comb size & development different.
(These came from a breeder in my small town who only keeps cochin bantams.)
