Hen with wound that is black need antibiotics

I have a hen who I found with some sort of wound that is black and dried out. It is on and above her vent. She has not laid an egg. I’m worried about it being infected? Should I put her on antibiotics? Where would I get some? I’ve read about purchasing fish antibiotics.

    Sick Pullet

I have the dust. Bought a year ago along with Permethrin thinking “better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it”. I’ll get on it in the morning. What do I do to treat the coop and run? Remove all the pine shavings, and spray the Permethrin everywhere? Meantime, how to care...

    Sick Pullet

Found her standing and walking slowly with one eye open at a time. Swooped her up and brought her in the house. She’s 3lbs. Gave her 1ml of rooster booster. 3mls of water. She got down 2 teaspoons of scrambled egg. I understand how not to aspirate her when giving fluids. She’s swallowing but...

What age should a cockerel processed?

So is the V on the edge of the stump or in the middle. What do you do with the chickens body while the head is in the V? Trying to create a visual and I can’t. Do you have pics or a video?

What age should a cockerel processed?

I have no room for this cockerel. The last one, I did by myself but I couldn’t get his neck stretched out long enough for a quick chop with my hatchet. It was very upsetting. Anyone know a trick for a quick death using a hatchet? Without it requiring 2 people? Or some other method?

    No vent?

This morning, the pink twig like thing was gone. I held a warm wet cotton ball against her bottom for a good 10 minutes. Her vent appeared! Kept soaking the mass. The longer I held it there, the more it dissolved, until it was quite clear. It was poop. I’m a little embarrassed 🙈 but so glad...
