    Brahmas and Barneys

FWIW I now have a 16 week old Barney pullet called Neil Patrick Harris... I was convinced she was a he, as we're most people on here, but nope definitely a girlie. She was similar in colour to your Muffin and it seems that the light chicks tend to feather in quite dark from everything I've read...

Just wondering if my 16 week old pullet still seems very dark?

Australians - Where are you all????

Hi everyone, not sure how I've missed this thread until now. I'm on the Morn Pen in Vic and have a small backyard flock of 5 hens and 3 (hopefully) pullets. We've got a mixture of breeds, including 2 x Welsummers, 1 x White Orp, 1 x Silver Laced Wynadotte, 1 x Araucana, 1 X RIR, 1 x Silver...

    The Welsummer Thread!!!!

Just thought I'd share a pic of my Aussie Welsummer, Beatrice (that's our other Wellie, Dot in the background). She's just moulted so is looking lovely in a new set of feathers. She's super smart and I joke that we're sworn enemies.... I have never had a hen that held a grudge like Beatrice!

    Help sexing my light sussex

I had a light Sussex (Charlie) and at 16 weeks everyone and their dog on here were telling me she were a he. If you wanted to look back through my posts a user posted pics of their roos around the same age and there was no mistaking mine was a Charlotte not a Charles! They're a very large breed...

    Help sexing my light sussex

I'm no expert and I'm sure other will weigh in, but to me they look like ladies who will be giving you some eggs shortly

Am I crazy, or is this a dude?

I'm certainly no expert but that seems a very pink comb for such a young chick... My guess is roo

Is Neil Patrick Harris really a roo?

The consensus of the Barnie thread seems to be pullet. Anyone else dare to hazard a guess?

Barnevelder breeders lets work together and improve the breed

Thanks for your opinion! Definite on age as I collected them as day old's straight out of the 'bator. The feathering had me wondering but I'm in Aus and it's the start of Autumn here and all our other ladies are molting, so I thought that might have something to do with it?

Barnevelder breeders lets work together and improve the breed

Thanks for your input! She's just from a local breeder, but I'm in Aus. I don't mind if she's too dark, she's just for my backyard flock :)

Barnevelder breeders lets work together and improve the breed

Hi there, I have 1 Barnevelder chick who is 9.5 weeks old. I hope it's ok for me to post here, but I thought I'd ask the experts: is Neil Patrick Harris a roo?

Is Neil Patrick Harris really a roo?

This is my Barnevelder chick, Neil Patrick Harris. He's 9.5 weeks old. WDYT? What about our RIR and SSH? (all 9.5 weeks)

    White Orpington

Just wondering if there were any other white orp owners out there? My 6 year old wanted to buy a hen with his own money and chose Hattie the white orp. We've never had orps before and Hattie sure is a weird one... She follows you around almost like she wants to be petted but if you try, she...

Silver-laced Wyandotte about 10 weeks: pullet or cockerel?

If I remember correctly, I posted about our SLW around 10-12 weeks because I was concerned about how red she'd was. Lola's definitely a girlie!

Please help! 8 week old chicks, getting desperate!

I know that the hamburg had tail feathers early, I've posted lots of pics of them in various threads if you wanted to check. The Barnie left was the lighter of the two, and honestly I don't now which RIR was which in the begining haha.
