    Now i have found 1 soft shelled egg laying on the ground outside the steps of my house...which is odd bc we've never had an issue with any laying in the nesting box.     Haha, too funny! I make fermented foods for my chickens too. Usually from my sourdough starter or i just make them some aged sourdough bread, crumble, let it dry out & they love it! :)

    I got my ducks mixed up (see how well i retain stuff lol)...it's actually the cayuga ducks we'll be getting :P i hear they are calmer breed. DH wants to put geese with the ducks, but everything I've read is after the brooder stage, they don't mix well :/
