Thank you for responding!
Poor bird is laying down, flat. If I could not see him breathing, I would think he is dead. He has a small dish of dry worms for protein and this morning he was lifting his head to peck at them.
I will check with Hubby what antibiotic he gave him.
I don't think he is...
Our sweet rooster started acting slow about 10 days ago. Then the first symptom was to stand with his head hanging low. We read about botulism as a possible cause, so we did molasses flush and epsom salt flush. He was pooping stinky chartreuse green with hard black pellets so we thought we were...
I have thought of that, but how do you know that they don't ring "just to go out" and not because they need to go? My 3 dogs would turn me into a butler!
We adopted a sweet girl about 2 months ago, she was absolutely not house trained. It's difficult but doable. She goes outside for #1 perfectly, but has used the screened porch for #2 a few times, still better than inside... She comes to the office every day and is perfect here.

She did not do it because she does not like the legs... I never heard her say she does not like chicken legs... watch yourself, dear... she also mention things about the taste being different when the roos get older...
Thanks to all for the advice. Our girls are pretty big but not sure if they are smart enough to try and scare the cats. And the cats are pretty tame, they come and ask for their dinner every night. So maybe they are fed enough not to try and take a chance with the chickens. And they'd better...
Still here, Granny. I just did not log in during the weekend because I spend 5 days a week working on a computer so I stay away from it during the weekend. You're far enough, I am not actually scared you would eat me...
Spent the entire weekend canning tomato sauce for pasta. 20 jars of it...
