Chickens are tough little critters; I'm sure she will be fine :) I do know what you mean about the cold though. I had to carry my hunka hunka burnin Roo out of the coop the past few days! What a wimp Gotta love him.
Thank you for your help. I didn't get anything that looked like the chick above other than my 2 welsummers. Is there a way to differenciate in between a welsummer chick and a speckled sussex? Maybe I got something else???
Okay, now that I have calmed down, here is my recap / update:
The chicks shipped out from Meyers on Monday, May 6th. I picked them up from the USPS sorting hub (because I couldn't wait any longer) on Wednesday, May 8th.

Yes. I didn't have very good luck did I? I know I have to wait 48 hours before I report my losses, but is it 48 hours after they where shipped out or after o got them in the brooder?
Welp, I got my chicks last night..... I drove all the way into Tulsa, to the sorting hub, to pick them up so I wouldn't have to wait another day. So far I have lost two (my australorp and 1 of my salmon fravolles), two more are weak, and one is severely deformed. :( I'm not happy......

No :( I'm in Oklahoma though, so I'm thinking I'll get mine the 9th. I looked on USPS tracking, but the only activity it's showing is that it was accepted at Mansfield, OH yesterday????? Nothing else; no other updates. I am so very confused. It was shipped priority instead of express. I'm not...

I am getting:
Hatch day is the 7th!!!!!!!!! I am super stoked :) I hope they are as sweet as my first flock (I got them from Ideal, but had to cull some due to defects and won't be using them in the future)

I am posting this on behalf of the breeder that sold me my anatolian:
I have spoke with the owner a few times about him. She just got chickens 3 months ago and he has been perfect with them. They free range her yard and he is with them all the time without incident. She says he is a very...

I programmed my door to the open early close late setting (which was super easy to do) and I have to say the original defaulted setting is probably better IMO. The open early part is awesome because it has really cut down on the amount of poo in the coop. The door in opening as soon as they get...
