    It's 16 f here in Northern Illinois,and that feels warm compared to the last couple days. Only had a bit of frostbite at the tips of my California Whites combs,very minor, had wind chills up to -26 past couple days, chickens didn't seem to notice,i sure did!

    Sorry for your loss. It's was a pretty bird. I'll try my cross in the spring and see what happens, as California Whites are half leghorn.

    Was just wondering, i had heard that a lot of store brands are made by large feed producers. My chickens like Farm & Fleets feed, even a bit better than the nutrena I was feeding them. Its a good price too.

    Out of 5 eggs at 14 day candle I have 2 that were infertile, and 2 that quit,and one that seem to be doing ok,I shined the light and the chick inside was moving around to avoid it.

    My hatch is also in a farm in innovators forced air, I like this incubator best. I don't know if mines digital or not I don't think so[/quote I find its only off a degree to half a degree.

    Well my chicks are 4 weeks old and have put the MHP behind them, now just a huddle hut and are partially integrated. Just the top of the pecking order Rode Island hen runs and nips them a bit, so they pop into their safe place till she gets bored.
