True. I just don’t want trouble while we are gone. It will only be for 6-1/2 days so maybe I can get some more things for them to sit on/play with/check out. Maybe that will keep their minds busy, especially hers.
Yeah she does her best too. She will be 2yrs in July so she is still young, just wants to be head of the flick I guess, lol. Nonetheless it is quite annoying.
I am concerned because we aren’t allowed roosters. She has 6 sisters and I guess feels she needs to stand in for the real thing.
I need...
I, too, have a hen that is crowing. They say it is because she is on a ‘power trip’ and needs to be spray from the rest of HER sisters. I came here going to find out how to go about that but haven’t seen anything about that. 😞
I was wondering if we could eat our girls’ eggs, too. I am the primary egg eater in the house and have just two layers, right now anyway. I think I will just continue eating the eggs and see what happens. 👍🏻😁
I have never known them to lay twice a day, interesting. I also didn’t know hens would crow so that’s how much I know! LOL! This girl of mine lays every to every other day, big brown eggs, along with her sister. ❤️
Gracie does it first thing when they get up in the morning then again about mid-morning. I have no idea why. I shush her as fast as I can cause I don’t want any issues with the neighbors. We will have to wait and see what happens.
I have a 11 month old hen, laying nearly everyday, that has recently taken up crowing. She definitely isn’t a rooster. I lived near a city that says NO ROOSTERS. As soon as she starts in on the crowing I dash out to shush her. I have a dog kennel but I would hate to put her in it every night and...
I have been reading this thread and I have a hen that her prolapse won't stay in. I have been soaking her in warm lavender soap water, treating the prolapse with witch hazel, prep h, bacitracin ointment but still comes out. I have been keeping her in the coop with her sisters to keep her quiet...
Thank you, smudge, for the reply. I have kind of figured that as well. I have soaked her and her sister in Epsom salt and have put some Vaseline on them, especially before bed time as it has been getting pretty cold lately. I also do put Vaseline on their combs to protect them. I appreciate...
One of my girls just 'squirted' from the back end and water from the front end. She is up on her perch and I was putting Vaseline on her comb (been getting very cold at night) and she did both.
She isn't limping and not favoring, she just steps high sometimes like it itches or something like that. She is VERY unfavorable of me getting too close to her. The toes are pink between them, a tiny bit of swelling. I will definitely give her some Epsom Salt soaks like I did for the Bumblefoot...
