3.5 week Olive Egger - from MPC - Pullet or Cockerel?

Yep, I kinda suspected this at 3.5 weeks, which is why I posted, to get some second opinions. ☺️ Thank you!! Good tip on when the saddle feathers come in.

3.5 week Olive Egger - from MPC - Pullet or Cockerel?

Thanks! Yeah, there are some pullet-like characteristics — but it’s hard to ignore that red comb!

3.5 week Olive Egger - from MPC - Pullet or Cockerel?

It’s night now, so this is the best I could do right now in the dark with flash. 1 on a chair I set them on, one as they were scaling the little brooder cage the chicks now perch on at night, and one overhead of their tail (them on the left, next to a Wyandotte chick of the same age on the right...

I know this is from a long time ago, but I’ve been dealing with a you g chick with the same exact issue, and wondered if/how Kate recovered?

3.5 week Olive Egger - from MPC - Pullet or Cockerel?

Oliver egger chick, shipped as 'day old chick' on June 24, so she's 3.5 - 4 weeks old. She comes from My Pet Chicken (MPC), which says they "crossed Legbars by Marans for one variety, and Ameraucanas by Marans for another variety" of Olive Eggers. Judging by this chick's slate legs, pea-ish...

    Hen with eyes closed

...eyes closed or half closed, a little tail pumping, wouldn't eat or drink ..... and then a few hours later, just normal. Totally normal all day today too. *shrug* Hopefully for your gal, it's something similar, maybe with their egg production or crop, that just worked itself out on its own. ?

Incoming buff orp with eye injury?

From reading the forums, sounds like I should maybe pick up some saline solution and some terramycin. Anything else?

Incoming buff orp with eye injury?

...says she's been picked on by her rooster/flock and has an eye injury; thinks the eye was scratched and it (the eye) moves a little slow. I haven't *knock on wood* had to deal with any injuries in my current flock before, so I don't have a lot of first aid/treatments on hand. What should I...

Should I transform a dog kennel into a temporary enclosure?

So we just moved into a new house a couple days ago, where I needed a new coop to move my 11 birds into. But a deal to buy a coop from an acquaintance fell through, AND today was our first snow of the winter! Eeek! I'm panicking a little. I'm on course now to get a custom built coop made for...

    Taking babies away from mama...

Hello! So about 6 weeks ago, I had two broody hens - and they adopted 6 little 2-day old chicks that they were basically "fostering" for a friend of mine. Now, the chicks are 6 weeks old, and arguably totally ready to transport over to their permanent home. 1 of the 2 hens abdicated her...

Help! 13 wk old pullet head hanging down and shaking

Worst nightmare: I’m on vacation out of state, and my house sitter watching my chickens for me says something is wrong with Stella, my 13 wk old silver laced Wyandotte pullet. It’s so hard not being there, but I’m trying to determine what’s wrong from afar and see if there’s something my sitter...
