Could we please stick to one unit of measurement for temperature. Fahrengrade or Centeheit, I don't really mind which.:p
Or better still, type those all important capital letters after the numbers, that is, F or C.
I ended up picking a theme and going with that. As an example, Dink, Donk, Dent, Tear, Rip, Crack. I managed three generations with some of the better themes.:p
Erm, who is this Ronald geezer. I'm, assuming, kattabelly being a Scot, that he's some kind of local hero?:p
I've been informed that a famous Ronald represents a ghastly American based blot on our landscape, much like a couple of golf courses across the border. So, if I've got this right then...
Two hours today. A bit chilly but dry.
We got out for a full two hours. I had stuff to do and they went to roost while I was doing it. It was properly dark when I left so I didn't disturb them so no roosting picture.
Henry was between nine and ten years old when he died.
We had a devastating few weeks that suddenly left me with just Henry's two daughters. Henry's favourite hen, Fret, the mother of all the chicks that hatched and one of their daughters, Tull, all died within a few weeks of each other.
I used to be an automatic door just like that.:p
The big advantage was If I didn't open on time I opened a bit later. The door I've got now, if it doesn't open, it doesn't open.:(
How old was Fabio when he died? Given we joined BYC close together and went to the Cafe at about the same time, almost seven years ago would you believe, he must have been around seven years old (?)
I'm about to introduce a cockerel very kindly donated by Perris who it seems I have also known...
Oh Tonya :hugs:hugsThat's a terrible loss.
I must confess I don't remember many of the roosters names that I've read about on BYC, but I will always remember Fabio and how patient you were with him. Most other keepers would have cooked him. Yet, you showed that with gritted teeth and time, plus...
Four hours today. It stayed dry after some light morning rain.
I'm a happy chap having been given a date for the pre opp cataract consultation. It would be really cool not to have to wear glasses except for computer work and reading.
We had the work day. Best bunch since I've been at the field...
The door leading edge is protected by the recess that Perris mentions. But, the is a cotter-pin that goes through the door that provides a wire attachment point and a fox, more likely a weasel, could hold the pin in it's jaws and drag the door open enough to get a paw in the gap. Easy to make...
I think the thing to do is not tell people about these places. It's like those articles that publicise unspoiled beauty spots; they won't be unspoiled for long once a few thousand tourists have tramped through them due to some hack writing about them.
