Setting eggs May Day 5/1 want to join me?

11 eggs made it to lockdown in the bator lastnight. I have seen 4 fuzzy butts poking there heads out from under my mother hen. I'm so happy hers are hatching. We had some strong winds turn our ckn tractor on its side last week. So, I was afraid they wouldn't make it.

    Still air incubator temps

I don't know how you are candling your eggs but I used to candle with mine up and down (large end up small end down.) When I started candling sideways it made a world of difference in what I can see, especially the farther along the development gets.

I'm ordering my first chicks- should they all be the same breed?

Most definitely mix. If you're partial to 3 different breeds then you will keep adding to the flock until you have them all...then you discover 3 more breeds that you would love to have...that's just how it works !

    Hatch Day

then today is your day 21! woohoo!!

    First Hatching

I would leave them alone. If you open the incubator you are risking shrink wrapping the babies because of the loss of humidity.
