The deer still come in the back yard where the coop is. I wish chickens did deter deer but I would have to say no at least not here.
And we always see deer in the cow pasture.
My girls terrorize our chihuahua. He has respect for them. They are the only animals he fears. He thinks he is about 7 foot tall and 200 lbs. but I would not trust him alone with them. He may not kill one but he could do considerable harm. He rules the house.
They definantly make the neighbor's horses very nervous. My chickens don't mind the fireworks though, we have to pop a couple firecrackers some evenings to prevent the buzzards from roosting in the trees behind the coop. The girls don't even flinch. They are used to them.
My DD makes all my DGD baby food. DGD is 9 months old now and she has never had store bought baby food. DD bakes everything, it brings out the natural sugars and you do not lose any nutrients. With the veggies and fruits, she uses a potato ricer. With the meats, she uses a small food processor...
