Max 9 times (cats have 9 lives you know) You spoiled my answer with this reply. My husbands eyesight was getting worse the past 1-2 years. The optometrist gave him new, starker lenses to compensate. But after some time it got worse again. He didn’t trust the advice to buy stronger lenses again...

Where did you go? Are you back again? Whats is it you want to talk about? 🐣🐥🐓 The clinics changed the moment to operate cataract. They don’t wait till your lens gets hard anymore. So if your eyesight is getting blurry you don’t have to wait any longer.

He’s lovely 😻 Can you, and do you want to keep him? Do you need eyedrops all the time? My husband didn’t see well either for another reason. He went to the optometrist. And another (better specialist). The last one told him to contact the doctor/ clinic to see if it was a cataract that...

I prefer my phone for my personal social media , which is BYC and one other forum. Nothing else. Need time for translation anyway. Social media like facebook, Insta and LinkedIn are mostly in Dutch and for work. X and Tiktok are not the social platforms my work wants to associate with. No...

Yes, now I get it. In the Netherlands we use capitals very sparsely. According to the official Dutch spelling, only names that refer to unique people, places, or things are capitalised. The words in apple cider vinegar are NOT unique. So it’s not just translating the words, but also other...

Chick crumbles not ok for adult chickens?

When I started with chickens I followed the advice of the reseller. Gave chick feed to my first chicks, layer from 16 weeks old. Impossible to do so if you have a mixed flock. I started to read more and by now I know more about chicken feed, and chicken health than the resellers. The feed...

I’m not a native speaker too and struggle with the use of lots of abbreviations too. Google translate is no help with those either. The very common abbreviations that are used a lot on whatsapp and socials like fwiw, fyi, lol, and wtf are not a problem. The chicken related abbreviations often...

Winters in the Netherlands are more wet than cold. Bc of climate change , longer periods with freezing cold days (below 0°C) become rare. It seems that ice skating at the lakes, canals and floodplains are becoming an exceptional event. No mountains where I live, so the 30 -40 meter high hills...

:gig Please ask your partner or a neighbour to film this next winter if you have a spell of warm weather again. And of course you need to post it as a short on youtube. .

💚🤩 You should put the first part of the video in a loop (short). Would be marvellous to see an endless stream of chickens jumping through the pop door.

I use sand in the coop. And when /after I had a mite infestation I used sand (with DE) in the nest-boxes too. Just a thin layer with hay on top. Change the hay after max one week. My chickens never took sand baths in the nest-boxes.

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

Part of it does. But I know we had a lot of very sick people (unrecoverable) who lived near goat farms from Qfever. Many patients (most farmers) with MRSA resistance bc of they used too much antibiotics (nowadays more restrictions but still). Some people in the Netherlands and Europe think...

Sorry for your loss :hugs :hugs :hugs , and fingers crossed for the new life :fl. Flocks evolve. Tears and joy. And good luck with battling the stick flea. Did you ever try using a little diatomaceous earth in the sand bath?
