I'll match you. I wrote this on my blog in May 2012. And these two have been my avatar here.
"In a perfect world all seven of the new chicks would be hens, I fear two are Lola posers".
Turns out only one was and Peanut turned out to be the best rooster on earth. Tiny, just one hand high. We...
we found one! SO excited, 2 years old and sweet as can be. What breed he is went completely out of my mind, but I think it had blue in it, although as she said it she said he looked more brown to her. We don't care, we aren't breeding,
found him!! Local poultry swap, we've always been out of town when they've held them before, so happy!!! So excited I completely forgot what kind she said he was, something with blue? I think
We are just SO happy
are you not going to have a poop board? My roost is slanted at about waist hight to maybe a foot higher at the back. I used three rows of roosts, with three different size wood rods, I couldn't find a consistent answer to what size round is best :)

We are down to just three banty hens and they miss their rooster, and so do we.
Very willing to buy or rehome one, thanks so much, Sharyn

The only change I'd make is unsew the two top far left blocks and put them on the other end so you didn't have pinks meeting pinks.
I have two old girls, they have been finished laying for at least 18 months.
When we put up the new nest boxes for the new girls, both old girls get in nearly every day, kind of vibrate ;) and then jump out and sing the egg song. I figure it's good training for the new girls. And good memories...
I'm sorry for your loss, that is always hard to take.
Just for future reference if you click on My Profile brown button at the top of the page a list of your posts is at the bottom with a little red number by it if there have been any replies since you made it.
In my experience eggs are not hard shelled coming out, they are semi-hard and a bit flexible, then the hen stands over it for a minute or two then gives it the tiniest little peck to assure it has hardened up. That is why sometimes you see those little peck marks in otherwise perfect eggs. That...
