    American lavender orpingtons

These are my babies. I'm trying to decide if I should get rid of my lavender males and start over with a black roo. I don't know much more about them besides they are american lavenders. Pictures from the breeders are lav×lav so I don't know how many generations have been lavxlav. Can someone...

    2+ week old lavender orpingtons

Two of them have pink patches where their wattles will be. Would that be a good sign or do they tend to color up in the face faster than other breeds.

    Banana nut bread?

I have a small amount of banana nut bread with a small amount of chopped walnuts in it left over. I wasn't sure if the walnuts were ok for my girls or if they would be a choking hazard. Any input is appreciated.

mine too! I originally bought three but one was just nasty. After she jumped my eight year old daughter she had to go, but the other two are the most friendly. They will stand there and let me pet them. Sometimes they will even come up to me to get their daily loving lol. Mine have just started...

yes English sorry. But I also read that most of the time in America you will get English standard unless you find someone that is breeding french standard, but most of the time you get English standard from hatcheries and feed stores. Not sure how true this is either

pretty sure you are correct french marans have feathers on their legs and American marans do not. I have two cuckoo marans not sure what the coloring would be considered they are black and white but they came from a local feed store and do not have feathers on their legs so I believe the are...

not sure about it being a defect but one of my cuckoo marans always lays a speckled egg. No matter if it's towards the end of her cycle and the solid color is light and the speckles are dark or the beginning of her cycle and the solid color is dark and the speckles are just slightly darker. It's...

Hen or Roo on these two

Your white one looks exactly like my buttercup. Same puffy cheeks and all. I have really bad service at my house so I can't get a picture to upload but will try later when I run into town. Mine are the same size and are between 13 and 14 weeks.

    Left over catfish?

We had our fill of it. I won't eat fish if it is in the fridge for more than a night I also refrigerate my eggs (un washed) because I can't stand the thought of them sitting outand I smell my milk every time I use it. I know I'm weird but hey it works for me

    Left over catfish?

Thank you both. I was thinking baking would make it easier for them to peck apart. We have had it for two days and I was about to toss it out. Is there a limit of how much they should have? I have one of the big ice cream buckets about half to three quarters full.
