Thank you, I will test the other one in boiling water. I tested the meat thermometer in both and it was good. Just seems like they all have a mind of their own, lol.
I calibrated all of my thermometers and all are pretty accurate, but I keep getting readings that are way off. My digital thermometer will say 101 and my meat (also digital) will say 108. How can 2 calibrated thermometers be so different? It's driving me crazy. Please help.

That's a frizzle.I just hatched out about 30 chicks this Spring and all the ones that ended up being fizzles had feathers that curled like that took Congratulations! I have some frizzle mutt roos here in San Antonio TX

I just want to know what humane euthanasia is? I had to cull a disabled and very mean angry rooster recently and wish there is another way, especially if Im not eating it.

My pet peeve as well. I think we need our own group. I tried to let people know the FDA allows euthanized, diseased, and lame animals in dog and cat food. It's on the FDA website, but people don't care, out of site out of mind. They were more concerned with my wording of the information opposed...
The bag says the seeds coated with Mefenoxam. Not particularly dangerous for birds, but considered mildly toxic. I did some research and found that Scott's brand pled guilty to knowingly using toxic pesticides in 2012 in bird feed, so I'm not trusting their packaging since not all ingredients...
