These replies are all interesting, thank you. I am going to persevere in at least correcting local stores if I can! One already replied very politely and said they will be educating their staff on the matter.

My pet peeve as well. I think we need our own group. I tried to let people know the FDA allows euthanized, diseased, and lame animals in dog and cat food. It's on the FDA website, but people don't care, out of site out of mind. They were more concerned with my wording of the information opposed to the context. Chickens will be Chickens.I know, false marketing has long been a pet peeve of mine....it's everywhere.
Then there's the anecdotal misinformation...don't get me going.
Manufacturers have their labeling loopholes filled quite nicely, but most people don't read the fine print and ignore the wigglewords seeing just what they want to see.
