Now for a large bite of good news.
I found Dakota back in the coop just now. I guess she was hiding after dark last night, or possibly partying with the rooster next door. :old :idunno Anyway, I’m happy to have her back home safe. No scent of corn mash alcohol on her beakbreath. 👮♂️

But she never showed much emotion, unless she was alone with me. Then she’ll tell me her whole life story (over again)
I hope so too. I remember when canna disappeared and came back with seven little baby EE’s in tow. But she returned. It would be such a personal loss to me if I never see Dakota again. 😔
I had those two visitors today. Two of the three original pullets from Nachos first hatch. Remember queso, jalapeño, and Frijole? Queso and the barred Jalapeño were here from next door. That neighbor must have let them out of that cage.

The hen is the one from next door. The chicks and her are wild and hard for me to catch. I’m not set up for a separate coop and run, I am however, watching the cats very closely. If I find one who prefers chicken instead of cat food, it’s carcass will be landfill
