We got the soldier fly/mealworm mix & our birds wouldn't touch ANY of it & mealworms are their favorite ~ they would eat none of it? We had to go back to just ordinary mealworms again:confused:

As said before we have no experience w/ roo's ... who I understand bantam roo's (including Silkie roo's) are every much hero roo's as bigger breed roo's. A chicken roo is a chicken no matter what his size. & I would hate losing ANY chicken... it was a loss ☹️even the couple stinker hens we had...
So many times sanctuaries have to keep predators cuz their injuries are so permanent (can't fly, missing limb, diabetic, etc) they can't be released back in the wild ☹️. Hope that's why these hawks were kept.
We've had many mellow lap-snuggly large breeds but a couple snuggle-bugs nevertheless were merciless bullies toward Silkies. One must be wise about mix & matching bantams & standard layers in a flock.
