Yes they do. Even at their worst in the middle of the idiot phase, the Roos steal my heart.
Peel an artichoke, they have many layers and in the middle is a wonderful heart. (Just like roosters)
But I wouldn’t suggest you try to peel a roo. They don’t like that very much. :gig

How interesting. I might've seen you. Or not. At least, I don't really know what you look like. I was at the birds at around 10 AM, or maybe even before 11.
Nope. I was there in the afternoon. Close though.

😆 Hattie must have ducked behind Aurora. There's only 7! 🤦‍♂️

Here she is a few seconds later after Aster left! How long until I can get 8 in a photo?

I was looking for her (or Sidney) sitting somewhere inconspicuously, really blending in, & still couldn’t find her! :p

Mr Rat makes an appearance in Lulu’s old stall. That’s were the new tiger chickens stay during the day, I normally remove spilled feed but today I had my uncle up helping with some winter preparation.

This rat is a big one

Good thing I can stream shows now hahaha! I recommend Agatha Christie’s Poirot.

Hercule would be an awesome Rooster name.
Can you find & monitor any Aussie or southern hemisphere threads on BYC? That’s one of the things I did in 2022 when I was up in the night managing pain! @MaryJanet had a thread and a sweet bunch of hens. Also @Ribh was active…I don’t have time to check in specifically with them these days.
:(

I have small animal traps, good for rats and squirrels.

The zap trap has caught many a rat and mouse too. The only issue is one has to actually put it out for it to work.

And that requires dementia (good grief! Autocorrect gone mad! I meant) remembering to do so…. When I first got it a couple yrs ago I was getting a couple a night. But it was new and a novel thing so I wouldn’t forget to put it out.

And dare not forget to remove it in the morning- don’t want to zaps chook 😳
Any way you could put it in a cage that the smallest can’t get into?

This really happened today. I took a 50lb bag of scratch to the coop, but I couldn’t pull the easy open strings to get to the grain. CeeCee tried to help. She jumped up on the bench I was sitting on, bag of scratch between my legs, she started pulling strings to help me open the bag. Then Blue was interested too, and she hopped around the bag as if to analyze a point of entry. I love it, when they are so smart and helpful! :lau :love:love
Maybe... they just wanted you to hurry up & OPEN it...
