As a Brit who has lived in Australia, I think both UK and Australia use the same terms for fries/chips.
It's interesting how different countries call them different names.

I do landscaping for a job and my preferred choice in the UK (which is where I'm from) is Laurel because it's fast growing and dense and can cope pretty well during dry spells, but I couldn't say for America.
