This chick was in a tub labeled Olive Egger (pullet) at Wilco. She and her sister are huge, grew so much faster than the other chicks. Is she an olive egger? We got her 2 weeks ago.
Sorry, sent reply too soon.
We got it from Wilco and the tub was labeled Mottled Hudan and something like red sexlink (something very visibly different than a Hudan). All the other chicks we got the same day have serious wing feather development.
We got this little chick about 2 weeks ago. S/he had serious pasty bottom and would have died at the feed store, so my daughter begged to save it, even though this type of chicken was not on our list. S/he is now more than 2 weeks old and has no head crest, and has feathered feet. What are...
We have a one year old frizzle rooster who has green color/ bruises on both wingtips. He has seemed pretty unhealthy since his first molt. He has scraggly looking/ dry and brittle feathers and infected pin feathers at his tail.
He also seems slightly underweight. He does however, eat and...
Thanks for the responses. My kids are hoping to keep all of them, but I am already seeing some serious fighting just with the boys. I will likely get rid of the ones that are creating the problems and see where to go from there
I have 2 separate areas to keep chickens and the plan was to open it up, but I may need to keep them separate so I can keep another boy. We hatched out 10 eggs and it appears 5 are boys. They are 7 weeks old now. There are 5 pullets that were hatched at the same time. They are all together...
My friend got this chick about 18 weeks ago. Sold as a lavender Ameraucana pullet. Just started crowing within the last 2 weeks.
She has 14 or so pullets, all purchased together which I have heard can make some pullets try and crow. This one has not shown any interest in mating at all and...
Hi! I have 2-13 week old Welsh harlequin ducklings and am waiting to see genders. I got them from a feed store and was told they were female. One grew faster and is still larger. The big one also doesn't quack nearly as much, and has a deeper voice. The larger one also has been more...

This is what I was thinking except maybe #1. Here is another photo.
These babies are 5.5 weeks old except frizzle is 5 weeks. They are bantam Cochin/ silkie mixes that we hatched. Each picture is a different chick even though some look alike.
Nearly day 23, just hatched out #9 out of 10 eggs. I candled the egg and while it is developed and air cell looks good I couldn't see any movement, breathing or blood movement. How long do you leave them in the incubator?
Thanks everyone for helping me through my first hatch!
