Frost here. Anywhere from 29 to 33 depending on which weather app you chose. I have 31. I need to mow leaves with mower on mulch. Not all leaves are down yet. I may start the fire pit and hull walnuts in the sun near the fire. Trying to adjust to the cool weather.
A systemic herbicide, such as glyphosate or 2, 4-D, can be applied to the foliage in late summer. It will be taken down to the root. A more targeted approach would be to cut the plant near the ground and apply undiluted herbicide to the wound. The herbicide has a shorter trip into the taproot...
Rain ended. Not sure how much we got. Squirrels found my buckets of walnuts. Fried squirrel sounds good. Need to plant the last of my hollyhock starts. Ground should be soft after the rain. Most of the in ground transplants made it. I had to water them often. I pushed their growth with...
Cut the loaf and the best bread yet. I can slice it very thin. I used the posted recipe and took tips tips from this video about getting the gluten to the right point.https://youtu.be/phzRY8FDj4c?si=TJaLNCe0TrubV59R
A little rain early and more coming tonight. Tried that bread recipe . I used half for a pizza and the other half for a loaf of bread. Maybe a bit too much dough for the pizza. Have not cut the loaf but it did raise really well. Full from the pizza.
This is what I use outside on the house to kill box elder bugs and Asian lady bugs. A bit pricey but worth. 4 1 oz packets. I use one packet in 1 gallon of water. Enough for 4 years at 1 packet a year. Just finished spraying.
I baked 2 loaves of bread from purchased frozen dough. I have temporarily given up on from scratch. I can not make a descent loaf. Always heavy. :idunno
Felt better today than I have in awhile. Getting over the pneumonia. Family members all got the same bug. Mine turned into pneumonia. Made a pumpkin pie. That pumpkin made a very good pie.
I bought a pumpkin/squash. Nice round and large. It reminds me of the golden delicious that I grew only larger and round. It is in the oven now. The rind was so tough I used a saw to cut it in half. Taste test later.
