What did you do in the garden today?

Yes. I've never tried to crush them in a garlic press, but they would fit.

Mine are just the same size keep them in pots.
Thanks for the pic. They look a lot like regular green onions, just a little bigger. I think my grandparents called them spring onions. They're probably too fibrous to work in a garlic press.

I'm going to mow the lawn for the last time today.

What made me decide to do the garlic soak/fertilization treatment last year was finding some tiny bugs on my garlic cloves, under the "wrapper" layer. They were teeny-tiny, black, about a millimeter long, half as wide. Some cloves had one or two, some had several. I'm not sure what they are, so if anyone knows, please speak up.

Anyway, I wanted to kill those, and not plant them with the garlic. The fertilization soak just sounded like a good thing, to help get the roots started growing before the ground froze. I don't think it made a difference in the yield, but my Music garlic has always done very well for me.

I'm hoping that it helps the multiplier onions grow bigger. I'm taking the same tack with those as with the garlic: eat the smaller bulbs, and plant the biggest ones. These seem to keep well, but they aren't very big bulbs. They rarely blossom, so I've read. Last year, a few plants did. This past summer, nearly every plant did, and I cut the flowers off, hoping for larger bulbs. Eh... I didn't really notice much increase in size. I will definitely cut any blossoms off again, and I am going to do more in the way of feeding next summer. Sounds like a good use for chicken poop compost to me!
But aliums are such interesting and pretty flowerheads. Hard decision

Probably. The layers are thin. I use them sliced. The first crop I get out my garden in the spring is green onion/chives (the green tops) from EWOs. You can harvest the bulbs any time you can get a shovel into the soil.

My growing season in my tropical area for tomatoes start in November. I think it might be the same for peppers. I have been planting in different seasons to see which one does the best.

You should grow a few coffee trees! I mean, you can grow them where you live so, why not!

But seriously, fresh coffee makes a huge difference. We have never owned a Keurig, thought about it once. We did percolator coffee long ago, but moved to a Chemex pour over a few years ago. I have ADHD so I have difficulty focusing without caffeine. Because I drink coffee every day, it's an important thing to make enjoyable. Making my morning coffee is a ritual. Though, I do have instant coffee at work to get me by in a pinch. I don't compare it to the coffee I prepare at home. We only get coffee from a barista on vacation. And that one time I dropped the Chemex on the tile... I cried a little bit in my soul that morning. I highly recommend pour over coffee.

Coffee is also my breakfast. I add olive oil some days and heavy cream on others. Macadamia nut milk through the day. No sweetener, no proteins, just fats and spices. I use cinnamon a lot, and turmeric in my afternoon cup. Clove and nutmeg in the winter.

Still not feeling great. I hate being sick. But I went to the doctor today for a regular appointment. I've been instructed to take it easy... I do not like being idle. But I want to drink beer on Saturday so I will do as I'm told.

Watered the carrot patch. I hope to see sprouts soon. Transplanted some scarlet kale. Picked raspberries and strawberries. I hope to plant garlic this weekend.
