Yea I’m kinda bummed out about that, since I need more answers. It was a very strange situation.. all of those goslings died one by one that day. Still trying to figure out what could of caused them to die the way they did.
We found these goslings soaking wet yesterday and one by one they started dying. Each one of them were walking very oddly and started staggering and could not get back up. I’m still trying to figure out what killed theses goslings because these are water birds and I know the rain my weather...
We had just gotten 3 baby ducks yesterday and when we went to check on them again the one baby duck was just laying there dead, but then it was moving it’s legs and still breathing but then died. We can’t figure out how or why it died, he had food and water. Does anyone know what could cause a...
I have known this goose for awhile now he stays at this one lake. His foot is crippled up and ever since spring came his plumage, feathers, and down has looked worse. Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong with him?
I seen like 4 or 5 green head mallards looking like they were attacking 1 hen (the female mallard) and would not stop. The were even grabbing her by her head and holding her down. What does this mean?
I just came today and she still isn’t on her nest, her and her mate are by themselves just hanging around doing their own thing separate from the other embdens here. I did check the other day and counted 5 eggs. I heard they can lay a lot is that true?
This gander and his mate act like they own this lake. Every time I throw food down to them the gander starts chasing the other geese non stop and then running back to his mate honking and bragging up a storm while it sounds like she’s laughing. It’s basically like he’s bullying the other geese...
I went back there yesterday and she still wasn’t on her nest, they were just swimming, doing their own thing the whole time I was there. I did look to see if there were eggs on the nest and there was but they were covered completely by leaves. I was there for about an hour and she still didn’t...
Well I was there for almost an hour and she wasn’t on her nest the whole time I was there so I have to check back. I just didn’t know if it was ok for them to get off the nest for that long. Do u know how long they have to sit on the nest for?
That’s cool u have one as a pet, do u just have the...
So they really aren’t capable of flying? Just into the lake? I’ve never seen these white geese fly before, only from the side of the lake into the lake. Also, this white goose that’s on a nest which was her first day on it yesterday, today when I went she wasn’t even on her nest her and her mate...
How come I’m still seeing a lot of Canada geese pairs that still have their goslings from last spring still tagging along with them, as the new nesting season is approaching.
Juvenile Canada geese? That’s not possible since it’s approaching the next nesting season. And juvenile Canada’s geese have black feet and obviously look like a Canada goose.
These 2 different looking geese popped up out of nowhere and started hanging out with all the Canada geese. I haven’t seen these 2 since. They were the only different looking ones, the rest were Canada’s.
why is it that a lot of Canada geese have injured/bit off feet and do not have a mate but some injured ones do.. I’ve been seeing a lot of ones with bit feet that are alone without a mate.
That’s so awesome! This pair I met when they were nesting last spring and have fed them amd their goslings throughout the spring, I haven’t seen them since and last week I seen them with a whole bunch of geese relaxing and grazing by this creek near where they nested and the gander did act like...
Theres this goose and gander pair of Canada geese I’ve known since the goose was on her nest last spring and her mate (the gander) stood guard of the nest, and I would always feed them and see them everyday until th it goslings grew up and they left to go to another lake. Now almost a year...
there’s this family of Canada geese at this lake I’ve been going to for months now and it’s only 3 adults and one gosling. The two are a pair but they have a single other goose with them and their gosling (gosling from last spring) why would their be 3 adults and one gosling?
