I have no clue, but they’re very pretty.Theres about ten of these white geese at this lake and today I seen one on a nest, what breed would they be? Snow geese, or embdens?
They are Embdens. Most likely, they were dumped there by a previous owner as they are a domestic breed.Theres about ten of these white geese at this lake and today I seen one on a nest, what breed would they be? Snow geese, or embdens?
X2 very sad to see them at a lake, they maybe able to fly into the lake to get away from a predator but I doubt seriously they could fly like the Canada’s.Just going by my own Embdens. Sure wish people who do the dumping would be caught. These geese don’t stand a big chanc of survival.![]()
They can leave usually long enough to eat poop and bathe they bath. Did she ever come back? My Embden gander is almost 12 yrs old and he has never taken flight. They will start at the end of the driveway and get a running start flapping but just barely off the ground.
I went back there yesterday and she still wasn’t on her nest, they were just swimming, doing their own thing the whole time I was there. I did look to see if there were eggs on the nest and there was but they were covered completely by leaves. I was there for about an hour and she still didn’t get on the nest. Her and her mate just do their own thing while the nest isn’t covered. Is that normal? I really hope those eggs don’t go bad.I have a gander and a Toulouse goose.
I doubt she'd be off the nest that long if there are eggs in it. Longest my females leave for is usually 15-30 minutes. Yes please check back , her poor mate will wait quite a while for her to return, it's sad if a predator got her.
