@NatJ thank you! Since the roof is so tall (8 foot on one end and 10 foot on the other), the roosting bars will be nowhere near these gaps. We put more framing cross-pieces along the underside of the roof and it will hold up, I'll be adding more cross beams inside the structure once the hardware cloth is on, and we're adding 1x2's as framing outside the hardware cloth and on top of the seams like in your picture.- Chickin Fairy

Finished the roof in our new coop/run today. Painting and all the hardware cloth goes up next. Seeking recommendations for how to seal that top inch with a predator proof covering. Whoops. Hubby mis-measured and instead of a 6x8 coop we ended up with an 8x8. Whatever am I to do? 🐣 I'm so happy that everything is turning out level. Level nesting box window and level base. This will make for happier birds, I think.- Chickin Fairy

Yeah, they're a HUGE problem here in SW Michigan. I collect the ones I can in a mason jar and dump them in the run every day. One a couple of my girls will eat them and (thankfully) my boys do. Most of the hens think they're gross, tho. I agree!- Chickin Fairy

Saddened today. My neighbors did have a rooster in their hatch. It was fun to hear him practicing his crow at my two boys.
