    Your 2025 Garden

Our home is a modular. They had over a hundred floor plans to look at. The company built them as they were ordered. You could make any changes to the floor plan you wanted which was different than most other companies we talked to at the time. You could extend room sizes in 16" increments...

    Stormcrow's Hobby Farm

So cold. The wind howled last night after dark. Thankfully all trees are still upright. Chickens came out and headed for the sunny side.

We have a full bath in the center of our house. It has no exterior wall. No windows, it has an exhaust fan. It is also our safe room for extreme hurricanes or tornados. We do not hear water running, flushing or shower running from other rooms. Can only hear if you are standing outside the...

    Your 2025 Garden

All our outside lines are insulated with foam then covered with fiberglass. They are then wrapped with plastic. One spigot near the well that sits out alone also has a bucket over it. Everything at the well is wrapped the same. There is a thermostatically controlled heat light that helps...

I'm so old I Remember when:

When my brother did this I was a teen so I had to help Mom with the vacuuming. It would have been around 1979. We moved a couple years later. I'll bet when the carpet was replaced they found more. Those beads static stick to your skin. You can't get them off! 🤣

I'm so old I Remember when:

My little brother did this when he was about 9 yrs old. He climbed up on his upper bunk and came down hard on his bean bag chair. Those tiny pellets went everywhere! Looked like it snowed in his room. Needless to say Mom was not pleased.

The Omega Rocks: The Last & Ultimate Barred Plymouth Rock Flock

That's what I was seeing. Limping, not moving around much, not dust bathing very often. They didn't eat as well either. When I started giving them a little heat on the coldest nights and added the curtains, they started coming outside more. They eat better too and just act more like a happy...

What are your frugal and sustainable tips and tricks?

In the past when we had warranty work on the previous unit none of the old parts had to be returned to the company. The tech called and verified with the company the parts were covered. We only paid for labor on those parts. The part cost was paid directly to the tech. I hope your issue is...

Pullet laid 2 eggs then nothing. It's been 5 weeks since.

I think they go through one last juvenile molt somewhere around 8 or so months old. So what you are seeing may be normal.

They look good. I think I can smell them! 🤣 I made vegetable soup this week. Used mostly vegetables put up from the garden. I opened a jar of tomatoes I canned to add. The smell is like summer time in a jar.

International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

#1 may see #2 as the more dominate male. #2 is mating. #1 is staying out of his way. Sometimes a less dominate male does not crow, tidbit, etc because of a more dominate male being around. A week is not very long. He made need a couple weeks to get his confidence with mature hens. Some of...

Don't blame you under the circumstances. I also have chronic back problems so I don't mind hiring the job done when necessary. Back pain is a tough thing to deal with. Hope your hubby recovers quickly!
