"Battery chickens"
I did a stupid thing. I know, I know... "So, what's new, Richard?"... anyway...
I went on-line to research poultry farms/poultry sales/chickens for sale, etc. in the Lake Vancouver, Washington area. I am chomping at the bit to get moved up to Washington and get my Eco-life...
You have a beautiful place and a great looking set up/coop.
I have seen variations on this style of coop/run before and really like the version y'all have settled on.
I didn't notice what area of you were located but, having lived in Texas for all but four years of my life, I have a couple of...
"7L Farm"...
IS THAT A GIANT, WHITE ROO AT THE END OF YOUR ROWS?! Talk about a scare crow!
HA!!! If so, he has a good looking spread to watch over.
Gives a completly different meanting to "Chickens in the garden"!
Thank you. I have been looking at Australops (sp) also... There are so many beautiful birds in this world... sigh...
My girls will be nothing but "pets with benefits"... so to speak. HA!
Peace and blessed be.
"Megs"... what a beauty!
Love these rascals! I thought this was the breed I wanted Japanese Bantams when I get to Vancouver, Wa. However, I had no idea of the problems with the leg issue... (never had anything but, "yard birds" and "field chickens").
Looks as if I need to do a little more...
You AND your 'girls' are completly spoiled! Great looking set up!
Sorry for you loss of Ms. Zoe. I have three Boston Terriers, myself. A short nose just means the kisses come from closer to the heart.
What a beautiful place you have! Great design and effort. You should be very pleased with yourself. You are going to have your hands full if your egg production is a reflection of your girl's environment!
Thanks for sharing.
That is one seriously fine looking set up! Obviously, you put a lot of time, patience and thought into it.
I like the addition of the stained glass and the tin cowboy... Happy hens equal healthy hens!
A great example of allowing artistic creativity and actual need to interact into a beautiful addition to your place!
Love the way it looks as if it has been there for a hundred years while including up to date needs and conviences.
Thanks for sharing with us.
